Single for Valentines Day
As the aisles at the convenience stores overflow with reds, pinks, hearts, chocolates and flowers, what is a single person to do?
Do we simmer in bitterness because we haven't found the right one by the yearly deadline?
Do we frown internally while the "perfect couples" plan out and execute the insta-face-snap worthy date?
What is a single person to do?
Just think, how can you truly know if the ones with plans are going out with someone who is faithful, trustworthy, and loyal?
The answer to that last question I do have, and it's no, there is no way we know that for sure.
If it is not the case then why do we compare what we don't have to what they possibly might have?
It is because it is easier to focus on what we want because we don't have it. It's a simple fill in the blank.
Is that blank only fillable by a significant other? Absolutely not. It can be your friend, your co-worker, neighbor, child, pet, hobby, or even yourself.
You are valuable not because you can update your relationship status but because you are you.
You are strong. You are worthy. You are going to get through this day.
Hold your head up. This person who wrote this believes in you.
If you know another single person this Valentines day, share this with them to give them a bit of encouragement. Spread the love.
